Okayama University established the Institute for Emerging Medical Innovation in April and held an unveiling ceremony for its signboard on April 6 in front of the Clinical Research Building at the Shikata Campus.

The institute was established to integrate Okayama University’s longstanding strengths in clinical research, regenerative medicine, and radiopharmaceutical research, and to promote the emergence of advanced, interdisciplinary medical technologies through cross-disciplinary collaboration. It aims to serve as a world-leading research hub based in Japan that will drive innovation in global healthcare, contribute to extending healthy life expectancy, reducing medical costs, and facilitating the international expansion of Japanese medical technologies.

During the unveiling ceremony, President NASU Yasutomo, Vice Executive Director TOYOOKA Shinichi (New Medical Research Hub), and Institute Director TAKARADA Takeshi jointly unveiled the new signboard.

Following the unveiling, President Nasu, Vice Executive Director Toyooka, and Director Takarada each delivered remarks. President Nasu expressed his expectations for the institute’s future, stating:
“We intend to share a wide range of resources to further develop and expand this institute, and we are planning various initiatives. I look forward to building our future together with all of you.”

The Institute for Emerging Medical Innovation will continue to advance cutting-edge medical research and innovation while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration that contributes to the future of healthcare.
