Emerging Medical Innovation Management Unit

Introduction

This management unit oversees the three research cores while serving as a central hub for collaboration with external organizations and the translation of research outcomes into practical applications. Acting as a bridge from research creation to implementation, the unit connects future-oriented medical technologies to the society.

The unit supports the translation of innovative medical technologies and deep-tech research into the University Hospital, provides consulting and knowledge sharing from the three research cores to other disciplines and institutions, and promotes cross-sectoral dissemination. In addition, it accelerates the social implementation and industrialization of research outcomes through funding support such as gap funds and hands-on guidance for startups and venture companies.

Beyond consolidating Okayama University’s strengths internally, the unit functions as a hub for collaboration with regional, national, and international universities, research institutes, and industry partners, enhancing mutual research capacity and driving innovation.
